It was never my intention to get involved in politics, public policy, or to work for the Texas Legislature. Then a local school told a stay-at-home mom she could not see a copy of the test being given to her children.

Grandkids are about the greatest thing the Lord has ever created. While parenting is what you do while you are doing everything else, grandparenting is what you get to do instead of everything else. And, when a few of my grands reached the age of texting, it became a great way to drop tidbits of wisdom into their day. These are some of the notes shared over the years.

Kathi got to the Texas Capitol accidentally and has stayed intentionally for almost 35 years. Her occupation is public policy; her vocation is mentoring young people in the principles of policy and character; her passion is truth, spiritual and intellectual. Wife of 53 years, mom to three, and Migi to the grands, she writes from her study in Austin, Texas, usually with a basset hound in the middle of the floor.
